Red Sox Fall to White Sox, 2-1

The Red Sox have now lost 9 of 14 games.  Their 5-9 start has fans wondering how long this World Series hangover will last.  The team is for the most part, very similar to last year, the most notable difference is the absence of Jacoby Ellsbury (currently wearing pinstripes).

Chicago beat Boston 2-1 last night in the first of a 3 game series in Chicago.  Peavy gave up 1 run but it was the bullpen that lost the game for Boston.  Bogaerts had a throwing error that favorably helped Chicago’s situation, however, the winning base runner was allowed by Badenhop and scored by Capuano to end the game in the 9th inning.

Despite a rocky start, the Red Sox are still selling out games at Fenway Park.  The Sox play 2 more games in Chicago before returning to Boston for a  series against Baltimore then a series against the Yankees.  Red Sox tickets are still among the hottest tickets in town, even with the Bruins going into the playoffs.
